The Wilson Group specializes solely in crisis management and related services. Simply put, we help organizations overcome problems and combat crises. Often, we can help them avoid crises altogether.
Our experience includes:
- Chemical spills/explosions
- Product tampering and recalls
- Racial/sexual/age discrimination
- Medical malpractice
- Obesity and nutritional issues
- Labor strikes, disputes
- Violence in the workplace
- Plant closings/layoffs
- Corporate reorganization/restructuring
- Transportation/industrial accidents
- Boycotts, demonstrations
- Governmental legislation
- Environmental problems
- Defective products
Whether it's a chemical spill or violence in the workplace, we have a proven track record for achieving positive results in the midst of crises. And, while no one can turn wrong into right, we routinely help organizations make the best out of bad situations.
Our services include crisis management counsel, crisis team training and media training, crisis communications plans and community relations programs that can help promote...or restore your corporate image. We help organizations draft workable crisis plans and even stage full-scale mock disasters to make sure they work.
Whether it's a question on avoiding a potential crisis or assistance in handling one that's already here, we're just a phone call away...day or night.
Crisis Management/Media Training WorkshopWe recommend a day and one-half to two days for this intense session that combine elements of our on-camera media training with the realism of our mock disasters. Course size is usually limited to no more than six to eight students, although observers (who are invited to participate in off-camera roles) are encouraged. This is a total emersion course designed to prepare those individuals who would be actively involved in an organization's response to a real crisis.
Although the course has a definite crisis orientation, the first half-day of this session is similar to our popular "Dealing with the News Media" workshop and can include students who have taken media training previously, as well as first-timers.
Using a realistic scenario, participants learn how to develop key messages they'll need to get across during media interviews. We'll also show students how they can "package" their message in sound bites that the news media can use and the public will understand.
Also see our Crisis Team Training Workshop for a course that focuses soley on the decision-making process of crisis management.
